The Astros inched closer to the AL West lead Monday afternoon with a 3-1 win against the Toronto Blue Jays.

It was another quality start by Astros starter Hunter Brown. Meanwhile, home runs from Jeremy Peña and Yordan Alvarez gave Houston just enough run support to cash in.

The Astros are now 13-4 over their last 17 games as they chase the flailing Seattle Mariners, who hold a narrow three-game lead in the division. Seattle is 3-7 in its last 10 games and has lost two straight.

Seth Payne and Sean Pendergast celebrate the good news of the Astros' most recent win allowing them to pick up a half-game in the standings as they're now just three games back from the division lead, as well as a Wild Card spot.
