    HOUSTON ( KIAH ) – On today’s show, host Maggie Flecknoe will be talking to the coordinators at the Early Reach childcare program, which has reopened and is accepting applications.     Social Media Effects on Mental Health

    A recent LG study found that more than half of social media users experience more negativity than positivity in their feeds. One in four respondents claim that social media has a negative impact on their lives, causing increases in anxiety and unhappiness. According to research, women and girls are more likely than men and boys to experience cyberbullying, online hate, and stalking. The impacts of cyberbullying have been linked to depression, anxiety, and suicide.

    Today, we’ll be discussing the research with information science professor Casey Fiesler about his thoughts on the negative impact of social media on Gen Z, and sharing tips for how to gain more control over your social media experience.
