Hurricane Beryl cancels Ohio flights to, from Texas as storm makes landfall

Ohio flights to and from Texas were canceled Monday as Hurricane Beryl swept through the Lone Star state , killing one person.

The vast majority of canceled flights are to and from the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston. The city faced damaging winds and flash floods caused by three to six inches of rain Monday morning. A man in a suburb northeast of Houston died Monday when a tree fell on his home, trapping him in debris, USA Today reported .

Millions were left without power in and around Houston as the Category 1 storm made landfall.

A handful of flights to and from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport were also canceled early Monday.

While most other Houston flights were canceled, two Southwest flights to and from Houston's William P. Hobby Airport were still listed as active as of Monday morning.
