Megan Thee Stallion’s Foundation Announces Emergency Power Program for Senior Citizens Across Houston

Megan Thee Stallion continues to make a positive impact in her hometown of Houston by launching an Emergency Power Program through her Pete and Thomas Foundation!

In collaboration with Bread of Life Inc., the program aims to provide generators to senior citizens across Houston, ensuring they have access to electricity during natural disasters.

The devastating effects of Hurricane Beryl on the Houston area prompted Megan Thee Stallion to take action. Witnessing the elderly population suffer without electricity during such storms was particularly distressing for her. In a statement shared on the program’s Instagram announcement, she said, “It’s been painful to watch the elderly population in Houston suffer without electricity during these devastating storms. That’s why we wanted to partner with Bread of Life to take a strategic approach to this problem and secure generators to help protect our senior citizens. We need to do our part to provide our elders with the best resources possible to withstand future emergencies.”

Bread of Life founder, Rudy Rasmus, echoed the sentiment, saying, “We want to expand our support of the most vulnerable people in the city, and Hurricane Beryl, the derecho and other storms have highlighted that our seniors are in dire need of assistance. Through our partnership with Megan Thee Stallion and her Pete and Thomas Foundation, we hope to provide generators to senior personal care homes this hurricane season. Our goal is to provide generators to our most vulnerable seniors ahead of storms or other events that knock out power so there is no interruption in service.”

As previously reported, the impact of Hurricane Beryl was significant, leaving 2.7 million people in the Houston area without power for an extended period. Coupled with the scorching summer temperatures in Texas, this led to the tragic loss of six lives due to heat-related issues. Megan Thee Stallion’s initiative seeks to prevent such tragedies by providing power solutions to senior citizens.

The Pete and Thomas Foundation, established by the “Savage” star in February 2022, is dedicated to supporting women, children, senior citizens, and marginalized communities. This non-profit organization reflects Megan Thee Stallion’s commitment to making a difference and uplifting those in need.
