C.J. Stroud putting in overtime work after Texans training camp practice

The Texans have put together an excellent group of offensive skill players and have upgraded their defensive line in a major way this offseason. While that's all good news for their chances in what looks to be a crowded royal rumble type of race at the top of the AFC, what really matters is how well their franchise quarterback develops in his second season.

Good news. According to offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik , C.J. Stroud has taken strides as far as his leadership and command of the offense at this year's training camp practices compared to last year's. Stroud also appears to understand that his work ethic will set the tone for the rest of the team, and as such he's putting in some overtime.

Watch Stroud running sprints after yesterday's practice.

Stroud threw for over 4,100 yards, plus 23 touchdown passes and five interceptions in 2023, becoming the first rookie ever to lead the NFL in TD/INT ratio. What he does for an encore will largely determine how far the Texans will go.
