It took just two days before the Houston Texans were fighting each other.

During Wednesday’s training camp practice, an after-the-whistle skirmish turned into a multi-player scrap that involved new star receiver Stefon Diggs, cornerback Derek Stingley Jr., tight end Dalton Schultz and safety Jimmie Ward.

After catching a C.J. Stroud pass in the middle of the field, Diggs took a late hit from Ward along the sideline that led to an exchange of words.

Not taking kindly to what happened in front of him, Schultz confronted Ward about his actions, which prompted Stingley to cheap shot the 6-foot-5 tight end as the former emerged from a pile of players.

While Diggs is known for his polarizing personality and his penchant for talking trash between plays, there’s no evidence to suggest he was actually physically involved in the altercation.

Based on last year’s fight when former Texans running back Devin Singletary mixed things up with linebacker Christian Harris, we know head coach DeMeco Ryans doesn’t have a problem with his players hashing things out in practice during camp.

“That’s what training camp is about,” Ryans said at the time. “Sometimes, you’re going to get tired of hitting the same guy over and over again. … Of course, we want to keep guys safe and keep guys up, but it’s going to get a little edgy, it’s going to get a little chippy and that’s how I want to play.”
