HOUSTON ( KIAH ) – Thank God it’s Friday, Houston! Is anyone else over this rain? How about an escape from our reality? Let’s pretend we’re in Paris for the 2024 Olympics . Who knows? Maybe this will bring our Olympians some good luck!
To celebrate the games, the Houston Hospitality Alliance showcases all the Olympic specials happening around town. We’ll also talk to the organizers of the Genuine World Cup , a tournament that allows special needs individuals the chance to compete in soccer.
International guests in Paris are not only enjoying the Olympics, but they’re also the happiest place on earth: Disneyland Paris! Today, we’ll take you on a tour of the Disney theme park, and you don’t want to miss it!
Houston Hospitality Alliance Olympic Specials
The Houston Hospitality Alliance has compiled a list of all the Olympic specials going on around Houston. If you’re looking for something to do while the Olympic Games are going on, this is a great place to start. Jonathan Horowitz has great ideas for what to do in H-town, so I’m sure there will be something for everyone. Jonathan is an expert on the city’s diverse restaurant, bar, and entertainment scene and has been featured in The New York Times .
The Genuine World Cup is coming to Houston from July 30 to August 4, and it’s allowing special needs individuals the chance to compete in soccer as the Olympics unfold in Paris. The Dynamo Houston field will host teams from Europe, the United States, and Mexico as they participate in the Genuine Houston World Cup .
The Genuine World Cup was created in 2014 and is organized by the Genuine Foundation . The goal of the organization is to promote inclusion for people with special needs through soccer. This event is open to athletes with a variety of disabilities. Some players may have physical disabilities, while others may have intellectual or developmental disabilities. ALL players are welcome to participate, regardless of their ability level.
Take Care Now Campaign by Bayer
This year, country singer Luke Bryan is on a mission to help those in need. While he’s traveling the country on his summer tour, he’s also supporting the Take Care Now campaign. Take Care Now is an organization that is battling “hidden hunger” in rural communities. There are so many people who don’t have enough food to eat. Luke Bryan is using his platform to help bring attention to this important issue and encourage people to donate to this worthy cause.
