    Elizabeth Francis, oldest living person in U.S., resides in Texas

    HOUSTON, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The oldest living person in the United States, Elizabeth Francis, who resides in Houston, Texas, turned 115 today.

    According to LongeviQuest Atlas, Francis is the fourth oldest living person in the world and is only one of 68 people to ever reach the age of 115. She is among 25 of the longest life-spans in American history.

    Elizabeth is currently the oldest living person at home, she stays with her daughter and her primary caregiver his her granddaughter. Officials added that Francis’s sister Bertha Johnson lived to the age of 106.

    Francis was born in 1909, and credits her faith to her long time on earth. When asked for advice she replied: “If the Good Lord gave it to you, use it! Speak your mind, don’t bite your tongue!” When asked about how it feels to be the oldest living American she said, “I just feel like living every day!” according to LongeviQuest Atlas.
