Colonial Heights: Mega model train show for all ages, two weekends, LEGO City returns
COLONIAL HEIGHTS — All aboard the mega model train show at Keystone Truck and Tractor Museum. The next two weekends, Richmond Freelance & Prototype [RF&P] Model Railroaders will present a 9,000 square foot showcase of O, HO and N scale trains. In celebration of America's titans of transportation, ticket holders will also get to view 130,000-plus square feet of trucks, tractors, cars and more.
Henrico's massive new park with water play and BMX trails is now open
Taylor Farm Park, Henrico's first large community park in more than 40 years, opens Tuesday off Williamsburg Road in Varina.Why it matters: A skatepark, event area, large playground, spray park, cycling pump track, bike dirt skills course, mist mounds, treehouse and a zipline are among the features of the new 99-acre park. The big picture: Henrico broke ground on the $20.1 million park last February after purchasing the land from the Taylor family in 2016. The county incorporated community feedback into its park plan. The spray park closes at 7pm (and when it's cold), the skate park at 10pm.
