Amarillo City council continues to work to revise charter amendments
Members of the Amarillo City Council and the charter review committee discussed four proposed city charter amendments at Tuesday’s special meeting in downtown Amarillo. Of the four charter amendments, the one that received the most discussion was Proposition C, which would increase the number of councilmembers to six, not counting the mayor, with three council seats requiring residents to live in the district they serve in. With this proposition, those residency-required seats would still be elected by a citywide vote.
