Woman killed in two-vehicle crash in West Plains
A woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday at noon in Howell County. Forty-six-year-old Stephanie Mellott was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the West Plains Police Department, the crash was reported around noon on U.S. Highway 63 near Quarry Road in West Plains. Two vehicles, a passenger vehicle and a commercial vehicle, were involved in the crash. Mellott was the driver of the passenger vehicle.

Mersman sentenced to ten years
A Willow Springs man has been sentenced to ten years in prison for injuring children. Kevin Mersman, age 46, of Willow Springs, received four 10-year sentences in the Missouri Department of Corrections to run concurrently for four felony counts of endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree. Mersman accepted a plea deal to the lesser charges and was sentenced on June 14 by Judge Robert David Ray at the Howell County Courthouse.
