This is why game preservation is an actual discussion worth having. The Xbox 360 online marketplace shut down recently put loads of dlc and games off the market entirely, with no way of being able to buy them yourself. I know that an emulator can be used to play many of those titles but some of us want the original versions for various reasons. The control issue is indeed a big one too, even ports within the same generation of hardware can be vastly different from each other. A big part of that is the controls.
