GMFS Baxter Springs Saddle Club!
Joey Williams, Baxter Springs Saddle Club President and Akissa French came by to talk to Howie about and event going on with the Baxter Springs Saddle Club! The Event is called the 56th Annual Saddle Club Rodeo, and is part of the saddle club that hosts it. Akissa will be a big part of the rodeo as she is a queen candidate this year. She will be doing Barrels on Friday and Saturday, but Saturday is the day of the crowning. Akissa has been involved for 5 years, which is a long time for her age. Leading up to this event, she had to sell sponsorships and signs among other things. The event is about being a part of a community, and as a candidate, bringing the community and people together is a goal. If you want to get involved they have events going every month! The Saddle Club is a non-profit so the community support from around the Four States is so important as they rely on donations to keep riding. They are located on the East side of the Spring River in Baxter Springs, and now the Highway is open! You can go here to learn more about the events and the Saddle Club in general on their Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/BaxterSpringsSaddleClubBSSC.
