A former Nevis school bus driver and former Hubbard County Commissioner has been convicted of four felonies in connection with sexual conduct involving two different minors. In a plea deal, 59-year-old Daniel Joseph Stacey of Akeley pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim under 16 and two counts of solicit child to engage in sexual conduct.
Woman injured in two-car crash near Nevis
NEVIS, Minn. (KFGO) – A Golden Valley, Minnesota woman was injured after a crash near Nevis in Hubbard County just before 1:45 p.m. Friday. The State Patrol says 28-year-old Michelle Lussky was making a left turn off Highway 34 onto County Road 33, and turned in front of an SUV. The SUV t-boned Lussky’s car.

Former Hubbard County commissioner pleads guilty to sex crimes
Daniel J. Stacey, 60, of Stillwater, was convicted in Ninth District Court of two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim under 16, soliciting a minor to engage in sexual conduct and distributing via electronic communication material that relates/describes sexual conduct to a child. All four counts are felonies.

(Eckles Township, MN) — Two children, ages 7 and 9, were reported missing on Sunday morning between Bemidji and Wilton. The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office reports the children were found safe at a residence in Hubbard County later that day. The investigation is still ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
