Eastern Iowa Woman Wins $20,000 Lottery Prize
CLIVE, Iowa — An eastern Iowa woman has won a $20,000 lottery prize. Jeneice Stiebel of Camanche won the 24th top prize in the Iowa Lottery’s “$20,000 Crossword” scratch game. She purchased her winning ticket at Kwik Star, 803 Seventh Ave. in Camanche, and claimed her prize Wednesday at the lottery’s Cedar Rapids regional office.

Tomorrow is the Main Day of Activities for 50107 Summerfest in Grand Junction
As the annual Grand Junction celebration gets underway today, tomorrow is a full day of festivities. The 50107 Summerfest begins with a 5K run/walk with free registrations at 8:30am and the race to start at 9am at Fouch Agriservice. Also from 9am-noon is the book sale at the library and from 9am-3pm is a petting with cow pie bingo. At 10am the Grand Junction Horizons Club will serve breakfast at the community center with an eggless casserole, cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, and a beverage for $5, followed by the parade at 11am.

DES MOINES, Iowa [KCCI] — Some Iowans will not see their local temperature and dew point weather reports because several weather tracking sensors across Iowa are disabled. In western Iowa, that includes the Denison and Carroll Airports. The Federal Aviation Administration released new guidelines on July 2 that require malfunctioning Automated Weather Observing Systems, or AWOS, located at airports to be disabled.

Dozen area baseball players recognized with all-district honors
Twelve area high school baseball players were recognized by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association on all-district teams released last Monday. In the Class 2A Central District, West Marshall’s Grayson Shaver, Owen Siegert and Beckham DeSotel earned first-team spots, as did Grundy Center’s Tate Jirovsky. BCLUW’s Calvin Zoske earned the only Class 1A first-team all-district pick from the area as a utility pick on the 1A Central District team.
