Sunrise Center is helping Alpena and surrounding areas navigate the road to recovery. “Sunrise Center, here in Alpena, is a treatment and recovery center for individuals impacted by substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions. So, we are a forty-one-bed residential treatment facility, and we also provide outpatient treatment, case management and peer recovery coaching support to individuals as they’re navigating their journey through recovery from substance use disorders,” CEO of Sunrise center Madeleine McConnell said.

MDARD shares how you can prevent the spread of Spotted Lanternfly
UPPER MICHIGAN (WLUC) - The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is taking measures to prevent the spread of spotted lanternflies statewide. MDARD said there have been no confirmed cases in the U.P. However, they said right now the state is setting traps in areas that are considered high risk to prevent them from spreading. They feed on fruit, ornamental and woody trees, with tree-of-heaven being one of its preferred hosts. Currently the two cities affected are Pontiac and Lambertville. MDARD Invasive Species Prevention and Response Specialist Robert Miller explained why the organization is keeping a close eye on them.

(CBS DETROIT) – Local and state health officials announced a new case of measles has been confirmed in a child in Macomb County, marking Michigan's sixth case this year. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the Macomb County Health Department alerted residents of the case Friday, and said the child was diagnosed with measles on July 3.
