OSCODA COUNTY, MI -- Officials say a 15-year-old boy drowned Tuesday in Smith Lake and no foul play is suspected. According to UpNorthLive, deputies with the Oscoda County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the lake after receiving multiple calls reporting a teen who was seen going underwater, but did not resurface.

The Senior Center in Rogers City is petitioning the community to help fix their roof. We are outside of the Senior Center in Rogers City, where they are addressing some problems with their roof. “We have a roof that is leaking and in need of replacement, it’s not a matter of repair. It’s a matter of replacing the entire membrane roof and the decking underneath it because it no longer meets the standards of the current laws. So, we have to replace everything. I’m looking for community support here to help us get this roof replaced so that we can continue all these wonderful services that we have here at the center. Hopefully, we can garner enough donations so that we can get this done this fall and be back in full operation next summer,” Senior center Board Member Karen Meyers said.
