HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Have any tax documents, pay slips or other sensitive material you want to get rid of securely? If you’re in Huber Heights, this is your weekend.

The city is offering a free paper-shredding event in two locations. Residents can drop off materials with personal information to be safely shredded between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 a.m on Saturday, July 20.

Huber Heights will have two drop-off locations available: Thomas Cloud Park at 4707 Brandt Pike and the Rose Music Center at 6800 Executive Blvd.

Anything with personal, sensitive information should be shredded. Common items include credit card statements, old checks, IRS tax returns and more.

By shredding documents, either at home or through events like the one today, individuals can prevent sensitive information from getting into the wrong hands.

Only paper will be accepted for shredding. Huber Heights says staples and paper clips are okay, but binders, binder rings and cardboard will not be accepted.
