OLDSMAR — The City Council held a special meeting Aug. 17 to evaluate two competing proposals for the redevelopment of the downtown town center site. The city had issued a request for proposals from developers interested in transforming the prime location with a mixed-use development. Two developers submitted plans: Office America Group and Stanbery Development Group, with both proposing a blend of residential, retail and office space.

TAMPA, Fla. - The death of an 18-year-old college football player from Tampa has his family hoping for answers while grieving the sudden death of their son. Calvin "C.J." Dickey had taken part in his first training session for the Bucknell University football team last month when he collapsed in the weight room, according to his family. He passed away in the hospital two days later.
