Former Seward Star Looks to Rebuild LHS Volleyball
Jelena Cohadarevic prided herself on being a complete volleyball player at Seward. She is the all time leader in kills with 1,380 and is sixth in digs with 1,004. Jelena is the only player if Seward history to register over 1,000 kills and 1,000 kills. Now she is entering her first year coaching players at Liberal High School to become more complete players. Redskin volleyball is in need of a re-boot after going 9-22 last year.

Police ask for help to ID suspect Kan. card skimming cases
JOHNSON COUNTY —Law enforcement are asking the public for information on a suspect involved in recent card skimming incidents over the last two weeks at an ATM at Walgreens near Quivira Road and West 75th Street in the city of Shawnee, Kansas, according to a social media report from police.

4 injured after erratic driver speeding on I-35 causes hit-and-run collision
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - Four individuals were injured after an erratic driver speeding on I-35 hit their vehicle and drove away before first responders arrived. The Kansas Highway Patrol indicates that around 10:20 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, emergency crews were called to the area of southbound I-35 and 18th St. in Kansas City, Kan., with reports of a hit-and-run collision.

LIBERAL, Kan. (KAKE) - Liberal High School says their campus was placed on a brief hold-in-place on Friday after the report of a potential threat was made. Junction City Animal Shelter is temporarily closed
Junction City Animal Shelter Director Vanessa Gray has confirmed via a social media announcement that unfortunately, starting on Friday, our shelter will be CLOSED at a minimum of 2 weeks. Thursday, we had a dog test positive for Parvovirus. He had been in and around our shelter, therefore, we will have to monitor all other dogs for the next 2 weeks for symptoms.
