From being completely unknown to the public in 2021 to one of the most Googled humans in the world, in 2022.

The 36-year-old entrepreneur and ex-kickboxing world champion turned provocative millionaire playboy made headlines in mid-2022 for his brazen, bold, and often offensive views on gender equality and politics.

As a throwback to traditional gender roles and targeting young men with his content, he quickly became known as "The King of Toxic Masculinity."

But, after making millions managing webcam models, a string of business investments, and his online course, Hustler's University (currently undergoing a re-branding), Andrew and his brother/business partner, Tristan, 34, promptly moved to Romania.

When asked why he chose Romania of all places, in a viral 2021 clip, Andrew famously responded:

"I like living in countries where corruption is available to everybody."

Andrew has since spoken openly about the modern structures of the world, likening it to the 1999 cyberpunk sci-fi movie, "The Matrix."

Through his social media channels and online course, Andrew's self-proclaimed mission is to educate young men on how to "escape the Matrix" through financial freedom.

But, as fast as he skyrocketed to social media fame, Tate's life has come crashing down, beginning late last year.

During a podcast/media tour, promoting Hustler's University, in August 2022, Romanian officials began investigating Andrew and Tristan for suspicion of human trafficking. The brothers were later charged and have been undergoing court appearances ever since, including a 30-day detention in Romanian jail.

On Dec. 30th, 2022, the brothers were taken into custody by Romanian officials for a 24-hour detention. But, prosecutors moved to extend the detention to 30 days -- the appeal was approved.

Then on Feb 01st, 2023, the detention was extended for a second time, adding another 30 days. In a recent video surfacing earlier this week, ironic as it is, Andrew can be heard saying,

"Of course it's unjust, there's no justice in Romania, unfortunately."

And, unfortunately for the Tate brothers, their appeal to cancel their second extension has been denied. They will be spending another 30 days in jail.

According to the New York Post, since the launch of the investigation, Romanian officials have "seized 15 luxury vehicles and more than 10 properties and homes tied to the suspects to prevent the assets from being sold or hidden."

The brothers' bank accounts, investment portfolios, and access to their websites have all been frozen as well

Although it's hard to say exactly what the future holds for the Tate brothers, one thing is for certain. They have not yet escaped the Matrix, nor the realities of the legal system.
