The normally buttoned-up Stanford professor and productivity guru, Andrew Huberman, recently showcased a side not yet seen by the general public.
Last week, the 48-year-old neuroscientist can be seen, in a recent YouTube video, hauling a heavy rock up a mountain.
At one point, Huberman needed to take his shirt off to stop the rock from slipping, admitting,"I haven't worked out shirtless since I was twenty."
And, what was revealed sent the internet into a frenzy...
Who is Andrew Huberman?
Huberman has skyrocketed into internet fame in recent years, becoming the top voice of everything productivity and human optimization related.
Clips from his podcast, The Huberman Lab, circulate every inch of productivity Twitter/X, YouTube, and TikTok, and has even spawned a generation of productivity bros known as "Huberman Husbands".
Although Huberman is normally quite bipartisan -- staying rooted in science and rarely sharing personal opinions, he is in fact... well, human. And recently, the 48-year-old neuroscientist, revealed why he always wears long sleeves.
He can be "quite distracting."
Huberman can be seen in a recent video, hauling a large rock up a mountain, alongside hunting enthusiast and ultra marathon-runner, Cameron Hanes, brandishing a canvas of tattoos, including two full sleeves.
Until the video surfaced, Huberman had all but scraped the internet of images of his youth. And, the video has been clipped, cut, and shared ad nauseam due to the neuroscientist's tattoos and ripped physique.
Another connected the dots regarding Huberman's buttoned-up demeanour:
"I honestly had no clue that Huberman was this jacked given that he's always covered up wearing long sleeves 💪."
"It's not my style", Andrew Shared in a Recent Podcast
Speaking to Chris Williamson, Huberman shared how makes a constant effort to "not be the center of attention", always wearing long sleeves and making sure not to insert his opinions into topics of religion or politics.
"I started getting tattoos really young (age 14)... I've got full sleeves, I'm basically like neck to wrist... But [when I'm teaching], I really want people to internalize the information and I do think that the tattoos (because they have nothing to do with the information) are a distraction... it's not my style."
Even though Huberman is a scientist, he also revealed, speaking to Cameron Hanes, that he is religious and prays daily.
"I do believe in God. I absolutely pray. I absolutely love the idea but also, for me which is really a deep belief, that you can't control everything. We're not in as much control as we think we are and that the magnificence of technology and magnificence of nature is... it's impossible for me to conceive how that could become about any other way."
