An interview with far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Tuesday took a tense turn when Greene was asked to comment on a quote from GOP nominee Donald Trump’s newly announced running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance.

Greene was explaining her excitement about Vance’s pick, and hailing his change of heart on Trump following earlier fierce criticism, when Jo Crawford, for the Times of London, recalled Vance’s suggestion that the United Kingdom may now be the first “truly Islamist” country with nukes following the center-left Labour Party’s election victory earlier this month.

“Doesn’t that paint a sour picture for relations with the U.K.?” Crawford asked Greene.

An immediately incensed Greene pivoted to talking about Democrats “demonizing” Trump and Republicans like herself and baselessly claiming that they were somehow responsible for the attempt on Trump’s life at the weekend.

When asked for evidence to back up her claim, Greene replied: “Shame on you. Shame on you.”

Greene later called Crawford “ridiculous,” “the problem in our country” and said she endures “the most unreal amount of bullshit because of little liars like you that take your job and turn it into political activism. Your job is the press. You should report the news. Not lie.”

Greene shut down another attempted question. “No, you don’t get to ask any more questions. I’m done with you because you’re the cause of our country being divided, [...] you’re the cause of President Trump almost being assassinated.”

Asked again for the evidence to back up her claims, Greene replied: “No, no. You’re done. You’re done. Go back.”

Greene shared the video on X, formerly Twitter, calling Crawford “one of many responsible for causing such deep division and hatred.”

In a video that the Times shared later on YouTube, Crawford recalled the “fiery” exchange and how Greene had essentially ignored her question about Vance and just “went on to speak about what the Democrats had said.”

Last month, Greene similarly melted down during an interview on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s “7.30” show whenever anchor Sarah Ferguson tried to ask questions about Trump.

And in March, Greene told former BBC news anchor Emily Maitlis to “fuck off” after Maitlis referred to Greene’s past peddling of conspiracy theories.
