Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz hit back at JD Vance on Wednesday after the senator from Ohio took to Fox News where he dismissed women’s concerns over abortion rights.

Host Laura Ingraham , in an interview with former President Donald Trump ’s vice presidential pick, referred to a friend that described “suburban women” caring about abortion rights and said they don’t understand that it’s not “banned nationally.”

She then asked Vance for his message to a group of people that she described as “marinating in this propaganda.”

“Well, first of all, I don’t buy that Laura. I think most suburban women care about normal things that most Americans care about,” Vance replied.

Walz, who has notably described Vance as “weird,” turned the Ohio senator’s “normal” words against him.

“It’s pretty normal to respect a woman’s right to make her own damn health care decisions,” replied Vice President Kamala Harris ’ running mate.

Also on Wednesday, a 2020 audio clip resurfaced in which Vance agreed with podcast host Eric Weinstein that the “ purpose of the postmenopausal female ” is to help raise grandchildren.

A spokesperson for Vance, in a statement to The Daily Beast , denied claims that he agreed with the host’s remarks.

The senator has previously faced backlash for calling Harris, along with several other Democrats, “childless cat ladies” and “people who don’t really have a direct stake” in the country.
