To me, the most relatable episode of “Friends” will always be Rachel sneaking new furniture into Phoebe’s apartment and saying it was vintage, per Phoebe’s rule of only buying secondhand. While I share Phoebe’s admiration of the pre-loved, I also understand the realities of living in a city: small doorways, extra staircases and absolutely no parking for blocks on end.

Sometimes, given the layout of your home , you need furniture that arrives in a rectangular box, to be formed indoors. You need something with free or reasonably priced delivery. And, when shopping for specific items or rooms, you can’t always rely on the thrift store gods to provide what you need in a timely manner. Sometimes you gotta go new.

Of course, if you, like me and Phoebe Buffay, still long for the look and vibe of a vintage item, it can be disheartening to see pages and pages of super modern and minimal home offerings. To help you find some retro-inspired design, I pulled some of my favorite old-school home items currently available on Wayfair that look perfectly aged but should come right on time.
