Recently, I reached out to members of the HuffPost newsroom with the intent of finding out the items on everyone’s Amazon Prime Day wish lists . It was then that I first heard about the Pura smart scent diffuser , a sleek little home addition that was coveted by more than one person.
The first thing that may come to mind when you hear the words “scent diffuser” are those headache-inducing plug-ins that overwhelm rooms and seem a bit antiquated in design. I was quickly assured, however, that the Pura is an elevated alternative that keeps spaces consistently smelling luxurious, while also being completely customizable and innovatively operated.

In addition to letting you set custom operating schedules, switch between fragrances and turn the Pura on or off, the user-friendly app allows you to adjust the fragrance intensity from the individual scent vials, even if you’re far from home. This can be especially beneficial for those who are hyper-sensitive to smells or for when you have guests coming at a moment’s notice.
Evans also said this diffuser can be a good option for anyone that fears lighting candles or has the dangerous tendency to accidentally leave them burning.

According to the brand, the device uses an adaptive diffusion technology, which keeps the scent dispersement consistent and self-adjusting based on factors like room temperature. And when a scent vial runs out, the Pura automatically detects that, notifies you and seamlessly swaps to the other scent vial in the diffuser. How long a vial lasts depends on your desired strength setting, Evans said. However, hers generally go for about four to five weeks.
Compatible with all standard outlets, the Pura also has an LED light on the face for an added touch of ambiance.
In terms of fragrance, the choices are virtually limitless with options fit for every room of the house and every season of the year. Reviewers call the scents high-quality, expensive-feeling and very different from the chemical-like plug-ins you might be most familiar with.

I’m able to use the same app for both scent diffusers, and the app makes it easy to control both devices from the same app. I love that I can set a schedule for each scent in each device, and I can set the color and intensity of the light separately for each scent. I especially like that I can set each scent to be subtle, medium or strong. Since some scents are naturally more potent than others, this is helpful. For instance, I set the all the Homesick scents to mild; I set the Orange Blossom and Coconut Oasis medium.
