The remains of an Oregon nurse who went missing have been found, and her neighbor has been charged with her murder, according to authorities.

In a Facebook post updated on Saturday, the Beaverton Police Department said police officers conducted a wellness check after Melissa Jubane, 32, didn’t show up for her shift as a nurse at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center on the morning of Sept. 4. Later that day, the department first shared a post about Jubane missing .

After her coworkers, friends and neighbors expressed concerns about her absence, police said they searched Jubane’s apartment but did not find her.

“Melissa was not present, and her absence without communication was deemed unusual and alarming,” authorities said.

“Efforts by officers and family members to contact Melissa throughout the day were unsuccessful, as her phone appeared to be turned off,” they added. “Additionally, searches of Melissa’s bank and credit card records yielded no new information regarding her location.”

Following an “extensive investigation,” Jubane’s neighbor, Bryce Johnathan Schubert, 27, was arrested on Friday and charged with her murder, the department said in its update Saturday. The update also said the investigation is still ongoing.

Schubert is being held at Washington County Jail on second-degree murder charges, according to NBC News . The outlet also noted that a uthorities have not released the location where Jubane’s remains were found nor detailed how Schubert was allegedly involved in her murder.

HuffPost has reached out to the Beaverton Police Department for comment.

In a statement given to KOIN , a local news station, Providence officials grieved Jubane’s death.
