Donald Trump Mocked For 'Epic Freudian Slip' About Tim Walz

Donald Trump referred to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) as the “future vice president,” and social media critics were quick to call it a “Freudian slip.”

Speaking Thursday at a rally in Tucson, Arizona, the Republican nominee first referred to Democrat Kamala Harris’ running mate as if he were the current vice president.

“I was very happy because I got the endorsement of the vice president’s family, and I got the endorsement of the vice president’s brother,” said Trump.

Trump has been claiming falsely that Walz’s brother endorsed him. Jeff Walz, a Republican, sharply criticized his brother’s ideologies on Facebook recently and said he was contemplating publicly endorsing Trump, but stopped short of doing so. In an appearance on NewsNation last week, he said he and his family don’t want to get involved in the political race. A group of Walz’s distant cousins have also come out in a show of support for Trump, earning praise from the former president.

“We have the endorsement of the brother of the future vice president,” Trump said on Thursday. “He better not win. If he ever won, this country will be in bad shape.”

    Social media users pounced.

“Epic Freudian slip from Donald Trump,” one wrote. “He knows Tim Walz is going to be the next Vice President of the United States.”

The Harris campaign called it a “stunningly senile moment.”

“It’s clear Donald Trump is too old to run for President,” the campaign posted on X (formerly Twitter).
