GOP Group Director Bestows Worst Possible Honor On Trump’s Campaign

Republican strategist Sarah Longwell minced no words with her damning description of the 2024 presidential campaign currently being run by GOP nominee Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance.

“This is the most vicious, despicable, lie-filled campaign I’ve ever seen,” Longwell told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Wednesday.

“And that is comparing it to what was a pretty significantly indecent campaign that Donald Trump ran in ’16 and ’20,” Longwell added.

Longwell, the founder of the Republican Voters Against Trump group and publisher of the center right-leaning Bulwark website, made the claim during a discussion on Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sander’s (R) taunt of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris not having biological children .

Responding to conservative claims that Sanders wasn’t actually jabbing at the vice president with her “my kids keep me humble. Unfortunately, Kamala Harris doesn’t have anything keeping her humble” line, Longwell said she didn’t “know how you can interpret her comments any other way.”

“But more importantly than that,” she continued, “JD Vance has been going on every weird bro podcast to make sure to talk about not just ‘childless cat ladies,’ that’s almost the funny part, but also that women in abusive relationships should stay in those relationships.”

She added, “The way that they defend people like Laura Loomer who are talking about how if Kamala Harris is in the White House, it’s going to smell like curry […] the way that they are currently terrorizing the people of Springfield with their racist smear about eating dogs and cats.”
