I’m a shopping writer — and an extremely frugal person, so much so that I often talk about hating spending money .

Though shopping writing and frugality may seem incongruent, to me they go largely hand-in-hand. Times are tough and only getting harder, with inflation I feel from my grocery and restaurant bills to the price of clothes, tech, personal care and more. Even many sales are not as enticing as they once were. Still, I love hunting for actually life-improving items at reasonable prices. My job is to look at the data, to find those products that are actually worth the money — and to impart my results to readers.

These are the deals that I think are actually worth your time this Fall Prime Day , all of which are less than $50. All of them, in my opinion, will make life a little easier or keep you more prepared for life’s surprises.
