Taylor Swift Makes Major Donation To Hurricane Milton And Helene Victims

Taylor Swift has made a sizable donation to those affected by recent devastating hurricanes in the Southeast.

As Hurricane Milton barreled toward Florida’s Gulf Coast, the “Cruel Summer” singer, according to Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, made a “generous $5 million donation” for relief efforts.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift,” she wrote Wednesday on Instagram , adding: “This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water, and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms.”

Babineaux-Fontenot continued, “Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead. Thank you, Taylor, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and for helping communities in need.”

The region was still reeling from Hurricane Helene’s devastation, which had caused disastrous flooding and killed more than 227 people across six states when it arrived in Florida two weeks prior to Milton making landfall Wednesday.

Milton has already left more than 3 million without power . The Category 3 storm has since reportedly left Florida and is continuing east into the Atlantic.

Swift has donated to such efforts before: She made “a sizable donation” to Hurricane Harvey victims in 2017 and $1 million to Nashville tornado victims in 2020.

“This is why her fans stand with her through everything. She puts kindness and generosity into everything she does,” one fan commented Wednesday on Instagram, with another adding: “thank you from the bottom of my heart on behalf of our neighbors in 24 counties.”

However, Swift isn’t the only musical icon contributing to disaster recovery efforts.

Dolly Parton reportedly announced Friday that she and her businesses — Dollywood Parks & Resorts, The Dollywood Foundation, Dolly Parton’s Stampede and Pirates Voyage — are joining hands with Walmart to provide flood relief across the Appalachians.
