'The View' Co-Hosts Won't Dress Up For Halloween This Year Because Of The Election

The co-hosts of “ The View ” won’t dress up for Halloween this year because it’s too close to Election Day.

Brian Teta, one of the show’s executive producers, said on Tuesday’s episode of “The View: Behind the Table” podcast that even though the Halloween episodes are “iconic” and “great,” they are taped shows, and “The View” needs to be live right before the presidential election on Nov. 5.

“I’ll try to bring it back next year, but the problem is those shows are a huge undertaking, we have to do them on tape, and, as part of what our show has become and what it is right now, we can’t be on tape three days before the election,” Teta added.

Joy Behar, one of the co-hosts of “The View,” was on the podcast too, where she described the Halloween episodes as “always annoying for us” despite having some fond memories from past ones, including seeing late co-host Barbara Walters dressed up as an alien and Marilyn Monroe.

Behar also agreed with Teta that the ABC daytime show needed to be live for the election.

“It’s too important. I don’t mean that to be grandiose, but we do have some influence on people’s thinking, and we need to use every single minute on this show to inform the public about how dangerous this guy is,” she said, referring to Republican nominee Donald Trump.

Earlier this month, Vice President Kamala Harris stopped by “The View.” During the episode, the Democratic nominee announced her plan to expand Medicare to cover the cost of in-home care for seniors and people with disabilities.

Following Harris’ appearance on “The View,” Trump went on social media to call its co-hosts “degenerates” and “dumb women.”
