Virginia State Police tried to stop a Nissan driving west on Old Keene Mill Rd. in Springfield at 5:14 p.m. on June 30 for reckless driving. Police say the driver refused to stop, instead speeding away. The pursuit concluded near Old Keene Mill Rd and Spring Street when the Nissan struck multiple other vehicles, and the suspect driver and passenger fled on foot. The Nissan was left in drive and stopped by the same state trooper who positioned his vehicle in front of the moving Nissan.

Sheriff: Taneytown shooting stemmed from road rage, 1 dead
A road rage shooting in Taneytown killed a man and injured two others, investigators said. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said deputies, Maryland State Troopers, Taneytown police officers and county fire crews were called around 10:05 p.m. Thursday to Bear Run Road at Runnymede Road, about five minutes east of town, where three men were shot.
