Novak, Wood Named ITA Scholar-Athletes
STILLWATER- Kristina Novak and Ava Wood of the Oklahoma State women's tennis team were named 2024 ITA Scholar-Athletes, as was announced on Monday. Novak, who just completed her fifth season of college tennis and second as a Cowgirl, earns the honor for the second consecutive season, while Wood, a freshman, is recognized for the first time.

His 2022 season was an indicator of what could be this season, starting in 13 games and throwing for 3,034 yards and 26 touchdowns, while rushing for another six touchdowns. Wide receiver transfer Dorian Singer brings Rising and Utah another offensive weapon.

The three-member board voted to convene for an executive session to discuss the employment of a town employee. The board returned 45 minutes and took no action.

OU junior wing Jeff Nwankwo has suffered a torn achilles during summer workouts, a source confirmed to Sooners Illustrated on Sunday. The severe injury will sideline him for an extended period of time, but Oklahoma is still hopeful that he could possibly make it back by the end of this upcoming season. Nwankwo made the jump to the Sooners from the junior college ranks earlier this offseason, coming aboard from Cowley College in Kansas.
