New Yorkers can now more easily find accessible recreation areas throughout the state, including a number of parks and other areas in the Hudson Valley region. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) announced the creation of an Accessible Recreation Destinations Map last month to help New Yorkers and visitors locate wheelchair accessible features at education centers, campgrounds and day use parks, waterway access sites and land areas.

Man Killed By State Trooper In Thompson After Striking Officer With Car, Police Say
The incident occurred in Sullivan County at 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, on Rock Hill Drive in the town of Thompson. Man arrested for stealing from a scrap yard in Sussex County
BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A Hunterdon County man is accused of stealing from a scrap yard in Byram Township. Raimos Scrap Iron & Metal reported to the Byram Township police that they had video surveillance of an individual breaking into and stealing from their scrapyard on Dec. 13, 2023 and June 3, 2024.
