Cattaraugus County Crash Kills One, Injures Two
One person is dead, while two others are in stable condition following a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Cattaraugus County. State Police in Olean responded to the intersection of Route 417 and Fischer Lane in the Town of Portville shortly after 4:00 PM and determined that a vehicle traveling east on Route 417 struck a northbound vehicle entering that roadway from Fischer Lane. Troopers say 65-year-old Clemendina Gaylor of Portville, the driver of the vehicle on Route 417, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger of the vehicle on Fischer Lane were transported to Olean General Hospital.

LITTLE VALLEY — The 181st Cattaraugus County Fair got underway Saturday under sunny skies and good crowds. The north end of the infield was taken over Saturday morning by the Antique Tractor Pull, which pits the owners of older tractors against each other for bragging rights on whose tractor pulled the heaviest load of sand the farthest.
