Eastern Iowans share why they love the USA
LINN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - Even though there was a little bit of rain throughout the afternoon, it wasn’t enough to dampen the spirits of festivalgoers in Eastern Iowa. With Independence Day celebrations all across the state, many Iowans are using these festivals as an opportunity to reflect on what makes the holiday special for them.

Cover Crop Business Accelerator from PFI and ISA celebrates 5 years
Practical Farmers of Iowa and the Iowa Soybean Association offer their Cover Crop Business Accelerator (CCBA) program to support cover crop adoption in the Midwest. The program is now in its fifth year, and it helps new and emerging cover crop businesses with the seed and application services they need to reach their conservation goals. Four area businesses to be featured on America’s Best Restaurants
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Three South Dakota restaurants and a nearby Iowa pub will be featured in an upcoming episode of America’s Best Restaurants Roadshow. Squealer’s Smoke Shack in Tea, Carnaval Brazilian Grill in Sioux Falls, Lone Pine Bar & Grill in Watertown and CHUDS Pub and Grub in Larchwood, Iowa, will all be receiving a visit from America’s Best Restaurant Roadshow’s crew in mid-July to be featured on an upcoming episode.
Nebraska nonprofit spends holiday preparing for flood cleanup in Spencer, Iowa
SPENCER, Iowa (WOWT) - Spencer resident Jon Muessigmann recalled when the Little Sioux River came out of its banks and inundated his town June 22. “It wasn’t just rising water,” Muessigmann said. “The water was with a vengeance. It has force behind it. It wasn’t just starting to come up. It had speed behind it.”
Area Fourth of July Celebrations are Open to the Public
The area will be full of fireworks celebrations on the Fourth of July. Starting in Buffalo Center where the Fire Department will have a display scheduled to begin at dusk or 9:30pm at Bison Field. The public is invited to attend the event. The celebration is a result of the money donated at Easter during the annual Pancake Day breakfast.
