See What Archeologists in Iowa Unearthed After 13,600 Years
It's nice to see these coming out of the ground like this. Archaeologists in Iowa have made a significant discovery with the unearthing of a well-preserved mastodon skull, dating back approximately 13,600 years. This find, located in the southern part of the state, is Iowa’s first notable mastodon and includes several bones primarily from the skull. The timing of this mastodon’s life aligns with the era when the first humans were inhabiting the region. I wonder if this mastodon knew the Flintstones.
Pre-Season High School Volleyball Rankings
(Area) — The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has released its Pre-Season Volleyball Rankings. In Class 1A, Riverside is ranked #8 — the Bulldogs went 27-11 last season and only lose two seniors this year. Ayla Richardson (636 assists, 96 kills, 143 digs, 39 blocks, 35 aces) returns at Setter, Elly Henderson (207 kills 145 digs, 36 blocks, 21 aces) is back up front, and Sophia Taylor (183 kills, 64 blocks, 19 aces) will give the Bulldogs a dynamic three-punch attack.
