TVA seeks public comment on proposed solar project in Lauderdale County, Tennessee
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) wants to know what the public thinks about a proposed solar project in Lauderdale County. The Ripley II Solar Facility would be run by SR Ripley II, LLC, a subsidiary of Silicon Ranch Corporation. They said the facility would be on 194 acres of a 490-acre tract of land which is currently zoned for “High Density/Mobile Home and General Business.” The TVA said the area is mostly agricultural fields.

One of the world’s largest manufacturers of construction equipment will locate in Mississippi, bringing with it more than 180 jobs and more than $175 million in investment. In a significant boost to the local economy, Liebherr has announced plans to establish distribution and manufacturing operations in Lee County. This project represents a substantial corporate investment of $176 million and will create at least 180 jobs by 2026, with the potential for further expansion that could see investments reach up to $238.4 million and job creation rise to 342 positions.
