HUNLOCK CREEK, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Lots of people gathered for what can only be described as a really big “Dill”.

A pickle fest was held in Hunlock Township at the Garden Drive-in.

The event featured several dozen vendors ranging from food to crafts. The staff at the Garden Drive-in put in decorations at the snack bar to help get festive for the inaugural event.

“There are pickle events all over the country. There’s one in the Poconos, there’s actually one today in Philadelphia which is a huge event in the country so people are always talking about these pickle events they go to and I thought let’s try something different,” said Stephen Zelenak the Operator at Garden Drive-in.

28/22 News MMJ Brian Orbin asks, “Tell me, why did you want to come out to picklefest today?”

“Because we love pickles. Duh. My daughter is one and she is pickle obsessed so we had to come out,” and Skyler Sutton from Sweet Valley.

Folks at the garden drive-in “Relished” Saturday’s picklefest so much they hope to have it back again next year.
