On Friday evening, Joshua Gregg, a resident of Roanoke, Texas, aged 48, received his sentence from Judge Damon R. Leichty of the United States District Court. This came after Gregg had pleaded guilty to the charge of wire fraud. The announcement was made by Clifford D. Johnson, the United States Attorney.

As a result of his guilty plea, Gregg has been sentenced to serve 18 months in prison. Following his release, he will be placed under supervised release for a period of one year. Additionally, he has been ordered by the court to pay restitution in the amount of $175,643.92 to the victim affected by his fraudulent actions.

According to the records presented in the lawsuit, Gregg engaged in a long-running fraud scheme against his previous employer from 2011 to 2020. This scheme involved falsely claiming and receiving reimbursement for significant sums of money that he was not rightfully entitled to. As part of his employment responsibilities, Gregg frequently traveled, and he exploited this opportunity to submit fraudulent requests for reimbursement that exceeded the actual amount of his travel-related expenses. Consequently, he received funds that he had no legitimate claim to. This deceitful behavior persisted for several years, ultimately resulting in financial losses for his employer.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted an investigation into this particular case, with Assistant United States Attorney Jerome W. McKeever taking charge of the prosecution.
