U.S. District Judge Sarah E. Pitlyk handed down a 141-month prison sentence to an individual who confessed to carrying out an armed robbery at a Foot Locker store in St. Louis, Missouri in 2021.

The perpetrator, Demetrius Kirksey, who is currently 35 years old, targeted the Foot Locker located at 4651 Chippewa Street in St. Louis on October 6, 2021. Brandishing a firearm, he threatened the clerk before proceeding to the back of the store and absconding with cash from the register.

Kirksey entered a guilty plea in January at the U.S. District Court in St. Louis for charges of robbery, as well as possession and displaying a firearm to further a violent crime.

The case underwent investigation by both the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the FBI. The prosecution of the case is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Cassandra Wiemken and Jennifer Szczucinski.
