Reigning PDRA Elite Top Dragster World Champion Steve Furr Reflects on Hot to Start 2024
Few drivers have been as dominant in the Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series’ sportsman classes as Steve Furr. The Harrisburg, North Carolina-based driver won the first three races of the six-race 2020 season to secure his first PDRA world championship in Laris Motorsports Insurance Top Dragster presented by Greenbrier Excavating & Paving.

Judge Catherine Eagles decided on a permanent block for part of the legislation that says doctors must document the location of a pregnancy before prescribing abortion pills. Myers Park filled with cyclists for this weekend's '24 Hours of Booty'
Hundreds of cyclists will pedal through Myers Park this weekend as part of the 23rd annual "24 Hours of Booty" fundraising event. The event raises money for Atrium Health Cancer Institute, the Levine Children's Hospital and other organizations and nonprofits. It was started in 2002 by Charlotte attorney Spencer Leuders as a way to raise money for cancer patients.

Ramona Halloway has exited her role as Community Affairs Manager at Radio One Charlotte. Halloway, who previously spent 22 years hosting the Matt & Ramona Show with Matt Harris on “107.9 The Link” turned “Mix 107.9” WLNK, had moved into that role in May 2023. In her most recent role, she was making biweekly appearances on the successor “Mix Mornings with Matt Harris and Liz Luda”, and hosting two weekly podcasts with Harris. She started her career at Country WNKO Newark OH, and has also worked as News Director and morning co-host at WTLC-FM Indianapolis from 1998-2000 and News Director of WNCI Columbus prior to teaming up with Harris at “Z104” WNVZ Norfolk. She has also co-hosted “Charlotte Today” on WCNC-TV and “Fox News Edge” on WCCB-TV.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is seeking the public’s assistance in locating missing teen, Linnex Sylvester. Linnex, 16, disappeared from Charlotte, North Carolina on July 22, 2024. He is described as 5’2″, weighs 100 lbs., and has brown eyes with brown hair. Linnex is believed to be in the local area or travel to surrounding cities.
