Single vehicle fatal crash in Huntington County
HUNTINGTON COUNTY, IN- At approximately 10:08 am on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, Gary D. Harvey, age 76, of Columbia, Tennessee was the operator of a 2012 Dodge pickup truck that was southbound on Interstate 69 nearing the 283-mile marker when he experienced a medical event, causing him to become unconscious. He impacted the rear of a southbound semi tractor-trailer, which deflected him into the median where he traveled into and along the cable barriers, coming to rest on the northbound side of the interstate. Law enforcement and first responders arrived on-scene and began CPR, continuing until EMS.
