Indiana Man Apprehended Following High-Speed Chase Through Construction Zone
On Friday night, a man from Indiana was caught after a high-speed pursuit in DeKalb and Noble counties, which resulted in a patrol car crash and several felony charges. At around 9:30 p.m., Dusty E. Dawkins, 43, was pursued by the Indiana State Police after allegedly driving without tail lights. The chase started when a trooper tried to stop him on SR327 near Warfield Street in Garrett. Dawkins chose to ignore the trooper, sped off south on SR327, and disregarded the “road closed” sign on CR56 due to ongoing construction.

Rollover crash on July 19, 2024 seriously injures one

On Friday, July 19, 2024, at approximately 1:42 a.m., Cass County Deputies on patrol located a single vehicle crash near County Road 500 East and US 35. Deputy Bryce Hamilton found a single vehicle with an ejected driver approximately 100 feet off of the roadway. Cass County Emergency Medical Services, Cass County Fire District #1, Walton Fire Department and the Walton Police Department also responded to the scene.
