15-year-old charged in connection with Springfield shooting indicted, DA says
A 15-year-old Springfield boy was indicted in June, moving his case to Superior Court, a spokesman for the Hampden County District Attorney’s office confirmed. Legacy Lopez, who was 14 when he was arrested earlier this year, is charged with murder, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, carrying a firearm without a license and possession of a loaded machine gun, court records show. Lopez is charged as an adult in connection with the fatal shooting of Railyn Paredes Paulino, 20, on April 12 on Phoenix Street in Springfield.
