WILLIAMSBURG, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — In Williamsburg, a tree came down on a 500 gallon propane tank and vehicle. Shay Hamel ‘26, a junior at Westfield State University, is majoring in elementary education with a minor in Spanish. Additionally, she is also a member of the Commonwealth Honors Program. Her passion for Spanish began in middle school and continued through high school, leading her to pursue the language at the collegiate level. Hamel is a third-generation Westfield State student, following in the footsteps of her grandfather and mother, who were also elementary education majors. Because of the University’s well-known reputation for offering high-quality education at an affordable rate, Hamel said that the choice to pursue elementary education here was easy.
