The 59th Huntington Summer Arts Festival returns with free, live performances to the Chapin Rainbow Stage in Heckscher Park in Huntington, from June 21 through Aug. 24.

Produced by the Town of Huntington, and presented by the Huntington Arts Council, this year’s festival brings a 10-week lineup that ranges from Broadway performers to national and local talent. The festival will feature performances that include rock, country, jazz, classical and gospel music as well as dance and theatrical productions.

"The Huntington Summer Arts Festival is a cultural mainstay for the Town of Huntington,” Kieran Johnson, executive director of Huntington Arts Council, said in a news release about this year’s festival.

The free, live performances, Johnson said, “unifies the community, bringing people of all ages and walks of life together to celebrate the arts. The performances this season are a rich mix of genres, welcoming longtime fans and new audiences to the Chapin Rainbow Stage.”

Johnson added that the “festival experience is not just culturally rich, but a strong economic driver for our town. We are proud of the collaborative work we do with the Town of Huntington to present the 59th Huntington Summer Arts Festival this year.”

Long Island’s nonprofit arts and culture industry generated $330 million in economic activity, the Long Island Arts Alliance announced at the Huntington Arts Council in 2023. The findings, which examined the economic and social impact of the arts in 2022, were from a study conducted by Americans for the Arts.

The report’s findings show that spending by arts and culture audiences generates economic activity to local merchants. Local attendees spend an average of $37.31 per person per event, outside of any related ticket costs, according to the report. Non-local attendees $63.83 per person, per event. And 76% of surveyed non-local attendees reported that their primary purpose for visiting was to attend the cultural event, emphasizing the draw and significance of the region’s arts and culture offerings.

Sponsors help support the arts. This year's sponsors for the Huntington Summer Arts Festival include Canon, the presenting sponsor, with additional support from Huntington Village BID, Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and Planning, and New York State Council on the Arts.

There are no admission costs to attend the Huntington Summer Arts Festival. This year’s festival runs Wednesday through Sunday, with start times at 8 p.m. except on Sundays, when performances start at 7 p.m.
