Managing Attorney, Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein

Patricia Galteri, who serves as managing attorney of Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein and chairs the firm’s management committee, maintains a client-centric approach to the practice of law while keeping the firm’s strategic vision on course. In addition to her management role, Galteri is chair of the firm’s wills, trusts and estates department and works with clients to customize estate and family business planning solutions, ensuring the tax-efficient transfer of wealth to the next generation.

Galteri has practiced law for nearly four decades and implements estate plans through the use of wills and grantor trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, generation skipping trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts and other arrangements designed to transfer property at little or reduced gift tax cost to selected beneficiaries. Nomination of agents under powers of attorneys and healthcare proxies also play an important role in effecting her clients’ intentions. In addition, Galteri supervises the preparation of probate and administration documents and provides advice in the marshaling and preservation of estate assets. She is knowledgeable in all aspects of estate administration and post-mortem estate tax planning.

Formerly chair of the Long Island Community Foundation, Galteri now serves as trustee emeriti for this organization, making grants to organizations found to respond to community need efficiently. Galteri also serves on the Northwell Health board of advisors, Huntington Hospital board of directors and the Long Island Association’s advisory board.

Galteri’s long list of accolades include receiving Hofstra University’s Outstanding Women in Law Award and induction into the Hofstra Law Hall of Fame, and LIBN’s Long Island Business Hall of Fame.
