A Huntington woman who says she soon planned to set up a local display of the many artifacts she owns was recently displaced from her house after a fire. She now says she doesn't know if the artifacts are still intact. The fire happened just after 9:30 p.m. on Friday on Greenlawn Road. The Rev. Bernadette Watkins is a pastor at a local church and staple of her community; she even has a local street named after her. Her house is currently uninhabitable. Watson is mom to four biological children, ten adopted children and has cared for dozens of foster children over the years. She said she's just grateful no one was hurt in the fire. She was in the house at the time with her son, 3-year-old granddaughter and 6-week-old granddaughter. The Town of Huntington said the fire is not to believed to be suspicious. The Centerport Fire Department tells News 12 the fire damage was limited to about two rooms but there was "significant" water damage. The cause is unknown. "
